A dual helix shaft in teal spirals down into a striped hexagonal base, and the trick is in the threading: one right-hand nut and one left-hand nut ride the same bolt but travel in completely opposite directions.
Twist the shaft or spin the nuts and both sides glide past each other in a smooth back-and-forth that seems to break some rule of physics. It does not. It just feels that way every single time.
