Zigzag Bolt Nut stands upright on its lower yellow block, a gray worm screw coiling up past stacked hexagons tilted just enough that no corner lines up with its neighbor. A thin dark seam marks the join between them; above it, green rings the center of the upper face around the bore while yellow fills its sides. The shank itself finishes in a flat cut that opens onto its own lobed cross-section, and everything runs matte with fine parallel striations along each ridge.

Pinch it between thumb and forefinger and work the upper block down the shank, then back again. Thread feeds under your fingertips with a steady mechanical rhythm, the kind of motion that keeps going for as long as you let it. At the end where the last loop closes off, a small chamfered tab gives your thumb a notch to find without looking. No batteries or instructions needed, your fingers already know what a bolt and nut are for.

It ends up in a pocket or propped on the workbench, passed along whenever someone wants their hands busy for a while. There is no screen and no right answer here, just the same small rotation again and again until whatever was on your mind loosens up a little. It only ever asks for a spare moment.
